Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Studies have shown that EMDR counseling can provide benefits that used to take years of therapy to achieve. For More information on how EMDR works you can visit http://www.emdr.com/frequent-questions/. EMDR therapists can provide eye movement therapy and are required to have additional training and experience in order to become an EMDR Trained or EMDR Certified therapist. EMDR can be used to treat numerous conditions but is particularly effective in treating PTSD or for other trauma therapy.
